Logo: O' Connell Power Generation
Nicecube has been working on a new logo design for Michael O'Connell, Power Generators. Michael is based in Cork and specialises in Generator maintenance and installation. He wanted to incorporate the electrical sine wave symbol into the new logo. Logo: New Nicecube logo!
I wasn't 100% percent happy with the previous Nicecube design logo so I decided to go back and revisit the cube shape and maybe try incorporating the 'n' and 'c' into the shape. I am happier with the result and how the negative space works...

Logo: John Margey Trade Cars
Nicecube design, in conjuction with Autobiz, recently designed a logo for John Margey trade cars...The client required a simple, minimal logo which incorporated a symbol associated to the automotive industry. The use of the stock speedometer provides an obvious metaphor allowing the logo to succesfully but subtly get the message across.

Illustration: Custom 404 page!
A '404' or 'page not found' is the page a user visits if they try to access a page on a website that doesn't exist or has been moved...Nicecube used an illustration to create its own custom 404 page, makes a nice change to the usual default ones :)

Web: Castlemine Farm Tweaking!
In May 2009, Nicecube designed the main homepage and inner pages templates for Castlemine Farm. The pages were then handed over and the website was populated by the client. Since the website was launched, a new logo and brochure were produced, so the look and feel needed to be updated.Castlemine approached Nicecube to review the website and carry out some graphical and structural edits.

Nice: Pete Higgins - Eglinton Canal
Pete Higgins, a recent graduate of the BA in Film & Television course in Cluain Mhuire, Galway, presented his final year project last weekend and it was well received by its audience. The documentary 'UFO' investigates the phenomena of UFO's and is set in Pete's hometown of Boyle, County Roscommon; a place associated with sightings over the last decade. More details of Pete's UFO documentary will be available soon at www.ufodoc09.com'Eglinton Canal' is short observational video undertaken as part of Pete's degree.
Both the Eglinton Canal short and the UFO documentary were accepted to this years Galway Film Fleadh festival which runs from 7th - 12th July.

Web: Castlemine free range farm
Nicecube Design recently completed a project which included a website design and page templates for Castlemine free range farm"Castlemine farm, located in the heart of the Roscommon countryside. is run by Sean Allen with his two sons Derek and Brendan, who are the latest of several generations to care for the land."
The finished templates were handed over to a developer who populated the website and added any additional coding.

Nicecube worked with Benny Sheerin, a freelance web developer, on some illustrations of his online avatar 'Benny the Mink', for use on his personal website.Benny is a web developer living in Cork. He is interested in web development, open source projects, Kohanaphp framework and Mozilla labs Ubiquity. He sent some sketches of the character which we refined...

Illustration: Barnacles Hostels, Website banners
As part of the Barnacles Hostels CMS upgrade Nicecube designed and illustrated a number of themed banners which can be activated by the CMS administrator when required.The generic banner can be replaced by any of the 6 current themed banners allowing the staff to update the overall theme of the site. New banners can be easily added as required...

Web: Barnacles Hostels
On launching a new identity (designed by Trigger communication), Nicecube worked with Barnacles Hostels on updating their existing website layout to reflect the new colour scheme.A CMS was also integrated in order to give staff control over content, metatags and image galleries. A blog was added, aimed at people who have stayed in either of the Galway or Dublin hostels, and for them to share their experiences, photos etc...
